The person mentioned is one of my all time favourite directors from hollywood.
I thought the time is right to mention about him since 'The dark knight' from nolan released jus two years ago and was much acclaimed,so think most of you would have seen the movie and wouldn be saying 'who the hell is he'?
I became a big fan of chris when i saw 'Memento'.It was a brilliant movie, revealed everthing at the end and it kept me guessing the story even after it ended.Thats his style there is always something you have to work it out yourself and find out what he actually intended.
Then i started diggin up his works and started downloadin 'The Prestige' but before it finished dark knight was realised and so went to catch it and forgot abt prestige. Finally, a few days back got a chance to c that movie and what a movie it was, it was typical nolan, the whole story was revealed in the last 10 minutes, the story followin three different time lines and keepin the suspense goin till the very end.I was left speechless after the movie ended an started revisting the scenes to make my understanding complete.
His choice of backdrops and locations are always excellent and is one of his greatest strengths.
He is undoubtedly one of the greatest directors of our time.
The Batman comics from dc was very famous and the cartoon series was makin money hand over fist but somehow like a jinx the movies on batman never clicked.Enter christopher nolan and voila! batman had a whole new dimension. He was no longer the super hero he was meant to be,he became sophisticated, had a techie help him with his gadgets and most importantly batman was a normal human, this struck a chord with the audience and with nolan's help batman was revived.
See 'Batman begins' and you ll know..I feel it is far more appealing than the dark knight ,the dialogues were simply 'awesome'.(Hey,atleast i use it less frequently than barney stinson).
I forgot to mention, his greatest strengthlies in his ability to write dialogues which are witty and which i say is unparalleled.
To conclude, i say watch his movies and be enlightened.
Bye.

Waiting for inception :)
ReplyDeleteMe too.
ReplyDeleteHas got an impressive cast..caine again but this time its de caprio an not christian bale.
"Christopher nolan.amazing director indeed.predictably unpredictable storyline and crisp dialogues has made him best of his kind.He got the best out of christian bale(bb , prestige) and Heath ledger(dk)." This was what i thought until i realised that most of the hollywood movies are really good and we indians are so blinded watching regional movies("yes offence") that even a normal storyline, decent soundmixing and an ironical ending leaves us dumbfounded..
ReplyDelete@anup:
ReplyDeleteYa. But there are many upcomin film makers in tamil and hope they give us decent movies
